Rehearse the AI interview before it counts

Pick the platform and the kind of role. You get its questions one at a time, in its format, and feedback on each answer the way its interview is scored, then what to fix first.

The formats

How each platform's AI interview runs

What each platform tells candidates about its interview, from its own help pages as our guides record them.

Mercor AI interview (Monty)

video · about 20 minutes

  • Most interviews take about 20 minutes on camera, in English unless the role says otherwise.
  • Questions are built from your resume and the job description, and probe deepest where your resume makes claims.
  • You can retake an interview up to three times across all applications, and a retake replaces your last attempt.
  • It reads a long silence as the end of your answer: if you need time to think, say so out loud.

micro1 AI interview (Zara)

video · length not published

  • Zara asks open-ended technical questions for the field you select, plus scenario questions about how you think and communicate.
  • Some roles add a coding challenge or a human data exercise.
  • You press Done answering? Continue to end each answer, so you decide when an answer is finished.
  • You see at the end whether you meet the certification criteria, and you can request feedback if you do not.

Braintrust AI interview (AIR)

voice · length not published

  • The AI skills interview is a conversation with role-specific scoring, run on Braintrust's AIR interviewer.
  • It sets which tasks and which pay grade you are offered, not only whether you are in.
  • Aim every answer at the most advanced work you can genuinely do.

Alignerr AI interview (Zara)

video · length not published

  • Many roles show a Zara AI video interview: a live dialogue with questions unique to you.
  • Coding interviews can include live exercises; language interviews are usually a conversation.
  • Take it on a laptop or desktop with the camera on: an interview with the camera disabled is marked Failed.
  • Projects are assigned on availability and your interview performance.

Sovrano AI AI interview

video · about 20 minutes

  • An AI video interview of about 20 minutes, in English, in Chrome.
  • Its AI interviewer asks adaptive questions about your background, and human reviewers check the result.
  • Each interview type allows up to 3 retakes; its Help Center says your most recent attempt counts, so retake only when you will do better.
  • It judges the quality of your reasoning: clear, focused answers beat long ones.

SuperAnnotate (SME Careers) AI interview

video · about 15 minutes

  • A recorded AI video conversation scheduled for about 15 minutes, mostly in English.
  • After you apply, the role shows Interview pending with a Take Interview button.
  • Grading usually takes 1 to 2 business days, then the team reviews your profile and CV.

Mindrift AI interview

video · short

  • Specialized projects may screen with a short automated AI interview you take when it suits you.
  • Mindrift asks that no AI tools be used in tests or the AI interview.

Terac AI interview

voice · about 3 minutes for a screening

  • An opportunity's screening can be a quick AI voice interview of about 3 minutes, in the opportunity's language.
  • An optional onboarding interview of about 10 minutes helps Terac match you.
  • A completed interview cannot be retaken; one that dropped can be restarted from the beginning.

OpenTrain AI AI interview

chat or voice · length not published

  • The employer chooses a text chat or a recorded voice interview, inside the proposal window on a computer.
  • It asks structured questions: your years of AI training, data labeling or annotation experience, your weekly availability and the platforms and task types you have worked on, plus the employer's own.
  • A voice interview cannot be paused, ends if two questions go unanswered, and can be started over once.

Turing AI interview

video · about 25 minutes on some roles

  • Some roles list an AI interview of about 25 minutes, then a resume and application review.
  • Its automated testing includes an adaptive AI interviewer; complex or high-stakes roles add deep-dive interviews with experts.
  • Turing gives no individual feedback.

What the feedback looks for

How AI interviews are scored

The scorer works from a transcript of what you said. It looks for depth in your field (the right terms, mechanisms, trade-offs), concrete experience you can own (projects, numbers, outcomes, “I” rather than “we”), reasoning out loud, and answers that lead with the point and then prove it.

Vague claims carry little weight because anyone can make them. An honest “I have not done that; here is how I would approach it” beats a confident guess. The AI interview guide covers setup, integrity checks and retakes for each platform. A message inviting you to an “interview” that asks for money or ID in a chat is a scam: check it here.

AI interview practice: questions

How do I practise for an AI interview?

Practise the format, not a script: the questions adapt to your resume and your answers, so a memorised answer rarely survives the first follow-up. Pick the platform and the kind of role above, answer each question as you would out loud, and read what the feedback says to change. Mercor also offers its own free practice interview. Our AI interview guide explains how each one is scored.

What does the Mercor AI interview ask?

Mercor's interviewer, Monty, builds its questions from your resume and the job description, and most sessions are Domain Expert interviews about your field and your real work. Most take about 20 minutes on camera. You can retake an interview up to three times across all applications, and a retake replaces your last attempt.

How does the micro1 AI interview with Zara work?

Zara asks open-ended technical questions for the field you select and scenario questions about how you think and communicate; some roles add a coding challenge or a human data exercise. You end each answer yourself with a Continue button and see at the end whether you meet the certification criteria.

Is the practice the same as the real interview?

It follows each platform's published format, but the questions are written for you by our AI and the real interviewer's questions will differ. The real interviews are spoken and on camera; here you type what you would say, which trains the substance and structure of your answers.

Do you keep my answers?

No. Your questions, answers and feedback stay in this browser so you can carry on later, and we keep nothing on our side; each answer is read once by an AI model to give feedback. Our privacy policy says so.
