Applying to Sovrano AI, step by step

Researched October 2026

Sign up free at app.sovrano.ai (email or Google), complete your profile with a PDF CV and a real mobile number, apply to a specific role and finish what it asks (an AI video interview of about 20 minutes, an expert survey, a qualification exam or a written brief), then sign the offer and agreements, add payment details, join the project Discord and get paid for approved work.

Who can join

  • Whatever the role demands, and the expert roles are senior: the nuclear, CBRN and chemical engineering posts ask for 3 to 4+ years in the field, English at C1 or above, and residence in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or the EU.
  • For the Fall 2026 Cohort (Consulting, Finance, Business or Legal): residence in an EU member state, a master's completed or in its final year, two years of relevant experience (internships of six months or more count), English at C1 or above, and at least 30 hours a week on European working hours.
  • A desktop or laptop with Google Chrome and a working camera and microphone for the AI interview. Firefox, Safari, Edge and mobile browsers are not supported.
  • A real mobile number that can receive SMS: phone verification is required before you can accept a contract, and VoIP numbers, Google Voice and landlines are not accepted. One account per person.
  • A CV saved as a PDF with selectable text, under 2 MB (not a Word file or a scanned image).
  • A payout account in one of the 155 countries Sovrano can pay into. It cannot pay into 23 countries at all (including Russia, Iran, Venezuela and Zimbabwe); 20 more, such as Nigeria, Egypt and Lebanon, are paid by a link you claim into an account in another country.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Create your account at app.sovrano.ai

Go to app.sovrano.ai/signup and enter your first and last name, email and a password (8+ characters with letters, numbers and special characters), or continue with Google. Open the verification link Sovrano emails you. You may hold only one account: duplicates are flagged and deactivated.

  2. 2

    Complete your profile

Upload your CV and fill in your profile, skills and role summaries before you apply. Sovrano says incomplete profiles are deprioritised and recommends tailoring your skills to the domain of the project you want.

  3. 3

    Apply to a specific role

Open roles are listed at app.sovrano.ai/opportunities and can be browsed without an account. Click Apply and complete the role's checklist: a complete profile, any required assessment, and confirming your work authorization. Applications auto-save, and you can withdraw one from your dashboard.

  4. 4

Take the AI interview if your role asks for it

It is a role-specific video conversation of about 20 minutes, in English, in Chrome with camera and microphone on. Each interview type allows up to 3 retakes from the Assessments tab. Free practice interviews are never shared with project leads.

  5. 5

    Finish the role's own screening

Expert posts ask for your CV or LinkedIn profile, then a short expert survey that you must pass before a bootcamp seat is allocated. Shortlisted applicants get the bootcamp invitation and the project guidelines by email.

  6. 6

Wait for a decision, then follow up

Some projects review applications within a few days, others take 2 to 4 weeks, and Sovrano emails you when there is an update. If your application has been under review for more than 4 weeks, email support@sovrano.ai with the project name and your account email.

  7. 7

Accept the offer and sign the agreements

Check the pay rate, expected hours, project and start date, then sign the Evaluator Agreement, a CIIAA (confidentiality and invention assignment) and an NDA, and acknowledge the payout policy. Offers usually expire after 5 to 7 days; if yours lapses, contact support@sovrano.ai at once.

  8. 8

    Add your payment details

Choose the country your payout account is held in; it does not have to be where you live or pay tax. Inside the SEPA area you are paid by bank transfer to your IBAN, and everywhere else by a secure payout link that you claim into an account of your choice.

  9. 9

Join Discord and do the paid bootcamp

Join the Sovrano Discord before the bootcamp: it is where you ask questions during a batch. On the expert posts a paid bootcamp runs on Monday, production opens on Tuesday, and the first batch of roughly 10 hours closes on Sunday.

  10. 10

    Get paid for approved work

Sovrano pays for completed and accepted work at the rate in your offer or written agreement. Its terms let it withhold or adjust pay for work that misses the project's standards, after reasonable notice and a chance for you to respond.

Role-specific Sovrano screening (AI interview, expert survey, qualification exam or work sample)

Sovrano screens per role rather than with one test. Its AI interviewer asks adaptive questions about your background, and human reviewers check the result. Expert roles add a short expert survey before a paid bootcamp, the robotics annotator role uses a free qualification exam on a partner platform, and task roles start with a brief that a senior reviewer must approve before you build anything.

Format

AI interview: about 20 minutes, on video in English, in Chrome, with up to 3 retakes per interview type. Robotics Data Annotator: an English check, a typing check, optional practice tasks and a 5-task exam, about 2 hours in all. Financial Modeling Expert: a case brief checked automatically and by a senior reviewer, then a data room, an Excel model and a deck or memo. Legal Case Study Author: a short live walkthrough call during assessment.

How to prepare

  • Use Chrome on a desktop or laptop, test your camera and microphone on the interview page first, keep your whole face in frame, and sit somewhere quiet; headphones help.
  • Answer with specific examples from your own work: Sovrano says its AI interviewer judges the quality of your reasoning, not just your answers, and that clear, focused answers beat long ones.
  • Take a free practice interview first; it never counts and is never shared with project leads.
  • Read the role's requirements and Contract & Payment Terms in full before applying: hard limits on country, years in the field and C1 English decide who gets through.
  • Do the work yourself: AI tools are banned in assessments unless stated, and AI-generated deliverables on the task roles are rejected and end the engagement unpaid.

Why people get rejected

  • Missing a hard requirement, such as living outside the listed countries or having fewer years in the field than the post asks for.
  • Using all 3 retakes of an interview type: Sovrano says the limit is firm and no extra retakes are granted.
  • Submitting AI-generated work: Sovrano monitors submissions for it, rejects them and can end the contract.
  • On the robotics annotator role, signing up on the partner platform with a different email or sending an unclear final screenshot, so Sovrano cannot confirm you passed.
  • Not a rejection: some posts only build a pool; the robotics annotator post says there is no project yet and passing guarantees no work.
How long it takes

Sovrano gives no fixed timeline. Its Help Center says some projects review applications within a few days and others take 2 to 4 weeks, and that a reply after an AI interview takes 2 to 4 weeks. After 4 weeks with no word you can ask support for a status check. Once you are shortlisted for an expert batch things move within a week: a paid bootcamp on Monday, production from Tuesday, and the batch closes on Sunday.

When you get paid

Sovrano pays contractors directly, in euros: a SEPA bank transfer to your IBAN inside the SEPA area, or a secure payout link elsewhere, claimed into an account in any of 155 countries. Some job posts say hourly work is paid monthly against approved hours, and task work is paid only on approval; you invoice Sovrano and handle your own taxes. Its older Help Center pages still describe payment through Deel.

Tips to get accepted

  • Apply only to open roles. On 10 October 2026 Sovrano's job feed held 38 posts, of which 15 were open (listed at app.sovrano.ai/opportunities) and 23 closed, including all of its language and speech pilots.
  • Retake an AI interview only when you are sure you will do better: Sovrano's Help Center says only your most recent attempt counts, even if it is worse.
  • On the finance task role, check with Sovrano before you start: briefs on companies it already covers are rejected, and the first task takes about 15 to 20 hours.
  • You can hold at most 2 active contracts at once, and rates are set per project and generally not negotiable, so choose offers with care.
  • Keep project work confidential: you may list 'Contractor for Sovrano AI' on LinkedIn or your CV, but never name a client or post task screenshots. Breaches can mean a permanent ban.
  • For help, email support@sovrano.ai (Monday to Saturday, Central European Time); there is no phone support. Project questions go to your project lead on Discord.

What isn't public

  • Sovrano's payment pages disagree. Its Help Center payment articles (last updated 22 April 2026) say all pay runs through Deel at the end of each month and carry a notice that the payment policy is being updated; its payout page of 1 September 2026 and its current job posts say Sovrano pays you directly, by SEPA transfer or payout link, and that you invoice it.
  • Its students page promises pay 'weekly, no invoicing hassle', while its Help Center says pay is monthly and its job posts say monthly or on approval. Which schedule applies to which role is not explained.
  • Retake rules disagree: the Help Center says only your most recent interview attempt counts, while the FAQ inside the app says your highest score is used.
  • Sovrano names no clients. It says it supplies experts to AI labs, robotics companies and enterprise teams, and some work runs on a partner's platform. It cites a funding round led by b2venture without an amount, and we found no press coverage of it.
  • Its network figures vary by page: 120,000+ verified evaluators on its AI companies page, and 400,000+ professionals or students on its careers and LinkedIn pages.
  • The Robotics Data Annotator post gives its rate as $5 to $15 an hour in the text but as EUR 5 to 15 on the job page itself.
  • Sovrano does not publish pass rates or how its AI interviewer scores answers, and gives no detailed score breakdown.
  • Job posts were read through Sovrano's public job feed, which serves the roles shown on app.sovrano.ai/opportunities; posts change often, so the counts here are a snapshot of 10 October 2026.

Applying to Sovrano AI: questions

How much does Sovrano AI pay?

It depends on the role. On 10 October 2026 its open posts paid $35 to $49 an hour (CBRN, nuclear and chemical experts), $150 per accepted presentation plus $60 an hour for rubric design (slide-deck experts), $500 or $1,000 per approved task (legal cases, financial models), EUR 1,000 a month (Fall 2026 Cohort), and $5 to $15 an hour for robotics annotators once placed on a project.

How does Sovrano AI pay you?

In euros, directly from Sovrano: a bank transfer to your IBAN if your account is in the SEPA area, or a secure payout link elsewhere that you claim into an account of your choice. It can pay into 155 countries; for 20 more it pays by link into an account in another country, and it cannot pay into 23 countries at all.

What is the Sovrano AI interview?

A role-specific video interview with an AI interviewer, about 20 minutes long and in English, taken in Chrome on a computer with camera and microphone. Recordings are kept for evaluation only and, Sovrano says, never used to train AI models. Expect 2 to 4 weeks for a reply, and you can retake each interview type up to 3 times.

What is the Sovrano AI Fall 2026 Cohort?

A three-month, remote, EU-only programme paying EUR 1,000 a month for at least 30 hours a week, in squads of ten for Consulting, Finance, Business and Legal (forty seats in all). You author or review benchmark tasks on executive slide decks, attend live course sessions, and may be moved to other work such as robotics annotation or motion capture.

Is Sovrano AI free to join?

Yes. Its terms say registration and use of the platform are free for evaluators, and Sovrano does not guarantee any minimum volume of tasks or income.

Am I an employee of Sovrano AI?

No, unless you sign a separate agreement such as an internship agreement. Evaluators work as independent contractors and handle their own tax and social security; Sovrano does not withhold tax unless the law requires it. It says it will adapt to the EU Platform Work Directive, due in national law by 2 December 2026.

Can I use ChatGPT or other AI tools on Sovrano work?

Only for spelling and light grammar fixes. Using AI to judge responses, write justifications or rewrite your submissions is banned; flagged work is rejected, and repeat cases lead to a permanent ban.

What is the Sovrano robotics annotator qualification?

A free, unpaid qualification of about two hours on a partner's annotation platform: an English check, a typing check, optional practice and a 5-task exam. Sign up there with the same email you applied with and send a screenshot of your finished exam. There is no project yet; once placed, the post says you earn $5 to $15 an hour.

What does Sovrano's legal case study role involve?

Writing a regulatory decision case grounded in EU law (GDPR, the EU AI Act, DORA, MiCA and similar) with a data room of 10 to 20 documents, for $500 per approved case. It asks for a law or compliance degree and 2+ years of non-academic experience, is listed as remote within the European Union, and allows no AI use anywhere in the case.

How long does it take to hear back from Sovrano AI?

Sovrano gives no fixed timeline. Its Help Center says some projects review applications within a few days and others take 2 to 4 weeks, and that a reply after an AI interview takes 2 to 4 weeks. After 4 weeks with no word you can ask support for a status check. Once you are shortlisted for an expert batch things move within a week: a paid bootcamp on Monday, production from Tuesday, and the batch closes on Sunday.

Does Sovrano AI have an assessment?

Yes: Role-specific Sovrano screening (AI interview, expert survey, qualification exam or work sample).
