Key findings
- 1
On the 15 platforms tracked throughout, open roles went down 2.1%, from about 1,699 in the week of 7 Sep 2026 to 1,664 in the week of 21 Sep 2026.
- 2
The median advertised rate of open roles moved from $65/hr to $55/hr between the first and the last week.
- 3
Apply clicks per open role went from 0.16 a week in the week of 7 Sep 2026 to 0.3 in the week of 21 Sep 2026, as the roles listed and the site's audience changed.

Sample. The first and the last complete week of 1 Sep 2026 to 30 Sep 2026.
Open roles are the average over the week's days; the rate and the share of roles stating pay are read at the start of each week.

Figure 2
Open roles, week by week
Is the number of open AI training roles rising or falling?
| Week | Open roles (fixed panel) | Index |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 6 SepPartial week | 1,632 | 96.0 |
| 7 to 13 Sep | 1,699 | 100.0 |
| 14 to 20 Sep | 1,667 | 98.1 |
| 21 to 27 Sep | 1,664 | 97.9 |
| 28 to 30 SepPartial week | 1,650 | 97.1 |
Sample. Average open roles over each week's days, on the 15 platforms tracked since 1 Sep 2026 (the fixed panel), 1 Sep 2026 to 30 Sep 2026.
The index is the panel's open roles against the week of 7 Sep 2026 (100). Platforms first tracked later appear only in the last column, so their arrival never reads as hiring growth.

New and removed listings, week by week
How many AI training roles are listed and taken down each week?

Sample. Listings on the platforms' job boards, 1 Sep 2026 to 30 Sep 2026, by ISO week (Monday to Sunday, UTC).
Each platform's first week in this dataset (its back catalogue) is not counted as new listings.

Figure 4
The advertised median rate, week by week
Are advertised rates for AI training work moving?
| Week | Median advertised rate | Roles stating a rate |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 6 SepPartial week | $65 | 89.1% |
| 7 to 13 Sep | $65 | 81.6% |
| 14 to 20 Sep | $60 | 74.1% |
| 21 to 27 Sep | $55 | 73.1% |
| 28 to 30 SepPartial week | $58 | 71.9% |
Sample. Roles open at the start of each week that state an hourly rate, 1 Sep 2026 to 30 Sep 2026.
The median follows the mix of open roles as well as rates themselves.

Applicant interest per open role, week by week

Sample. Apply clicks on a specific role on AITraining.jobs, 1 Sep 2026 to 30 Sep 2026, against the roles open that week.
It rises with AITraining.jobs's own audience as well as with interest in the work: read it beside the other weeks, not as a market total.

For labs, data vendors and researchers
Buy the data behind this report
The figures above are a summary. Behind them are records we collect ourselves, every day:
9,572 roles tracked, each with its history
Every role on 29 job boards, read daily since 13 Jul 2026: its pay and place, and the first and last day it was open.
6,200 apply clicks in 28 days
Which roles people actually apply to, by field, pay and kind of work. It happens on this site, so nobody else can count it.
39 lab and vendor hiring boards
The job boards of 25 AI labs and 14 human-data vendors, read every day: who is hiring for human data, and who is hiring to buy it.
What you can buy
The records
The rows behind any figure, with their history, not only the totals.
A regular feed
The same figures every week or month, as files.
A custom cut or benchmark
Your countries, languages or fields, or your own platform against the market.
Method and definitions
The public job boards of the AI training platforms this site tracks, read every day. Apply clicks are made on AITraining.jobs. Every figure is computed by one database query over the window shown, the same query for the live report and for every edition. Each figure states its sample beneath it.
- Fixed panel
- The platforms already tracked when the window opens. The index follows their open roles, so a platform added later never reads as market growth.
- Index
- The panel's average open roles in a week, divided by the same in the base week, times 100.
- Open role
- A role listed by a given day and still in its platform's feed that day.
- New listing
- A role that first appeared during the window on a platform already tracked before that week. A platform's first week in this dataset is its back catalogue and is not counted as new.
- Removed listing
- A role that left its platform's feed during the window.
- Advertised pay
- The hourly figure a posting states (the middle of a stated range). Medians need at least 8 roles stating a rate; the middle half runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile.
- Clicks per open role a week
- Apply clicks on AITraining.jobs divided by the days the roles were open, times 7.
- Window
- Live: the last twelve complete ISO weeks (Monday to Sunday, UTC), from the week of 3 Aug 2026 at the earliest. Edition: the weeks of one calendar month.
What this data cannot tell you
- Platforms that recruit without a public job board are not counted. Several large ones invite workers to projects directly.
- A listing is not a hire. Some platforms keep evergreen roles open for months, and some post one listing per language or country.
- Apply clicks measure interest among the people who use AITraining.jobs, and what is shown first gets clicked more.
- Before 3 Aug 2026 this dataset's feeds were still being added and tuned, so the index does not reach back further.
How the job feeds are read and roles are classified: site methodology. How fresh, complete and consistent the data is, checked every day: data quality and coverage.
Editions
The live report covers the last 12 complete weeks (from 3 Aug 2026 at the earliest) and moves on every Monday. Each complete month is also published as an edition, frozen two days after the month ends, so a figure you cite from an edition never moves.
